Check out this link here for a story about an argument which occured in Scotland over Creationism versus Evolutionism. Apparently three people were arguing the issue, getting progressively drunker as they did so, and it culminated in the creationist stabbing the evolutionist. The story doesn't give too many details, but gosh! Three cheers for violent, brash, destructive fundamentalism.

do you think a fundamentalist can be a pacifist? or are they diametrically opposed?
Well, I hope this doesn't sound evasive, but I would say that it depends how you are defending fundamentalist. I don't know many people who are fundamental about all fundamentalist doctrines. However, I would say that it is not often that you find a fundamentalist pacifist. But I would not say (and I am no expert - I just try to live it) they are necessarily diametically opposed.
But the man who stabbed a guy - he sucks even at being a fundamentalist.
